Why subscribe?

You get

• A short email on Sunday. When the new painting lands. The email includes the painting, a 2-3 sentence description of it, the museum where the original lives, and a link to the silent and with-piano versions.
• A short email on Friday. When the next painting lands. Same format.
• A link to the previous painting if you missed one. We keep a quiet archive of every painting we've ever shown.
• First notice when we ship a new collection of objects inspired by the channel — prints, books, possibly a few small things. We will not email you about sales or discount codes.

You do not get

• Sponsored emails, partner emails, or any "as seen in" emails.
• Sales emails. The list is not a marketing channel. It is a quiet notification channel.
• A weekly "newsletter" with a 1,500-word essay about a painting. We will not write that. The email is short on purpose.
• Resold emails to any third party. We do not and will not share your email with anyone.

Why we do this

The email list is the channel's only direct line to the people who actually care. YouTube's algorithm is fickle. Subscribers can disappear for months and not see a video. The email list is permanent. We own it. You own your email. We can reach each other directly, and that matters for a one-person operation.

We are not trying to grow the list fast. We are trying to grow it well. If the list stays at 200 people for two years but every one of them opens the email, that's better than a list of 20,000 that nobody reads.

The practical bit

Your email is stored in Vercel KV (durable, encrypted at rest). You can unsubscribe with one click from any email. The form does the dedup — if you re-submit, the site says "welcome back" instead of subscribing twice. You will not be pestered.
